Twisted Oval Copper Earrings

These are made of 100% copper. They have a lot of movement to them. The large ovals are twisted copper so they catch the light nicely.

These earrings are 1-1/8" long and 9/16" at the widest part of the large oval.

They are very lightweight.

Copper Hoops and Balled Dangles, Earrings

Hello and welcome to "Fifty Fathoms Down".  Today I have a pair of copper earrings. 

These are made entirely of copper. It features coiled pieces at the bottom of the hoops. There's two copper beads that dangle from the center of the piece. The headpins that these beads are on are handmade. Sizes of the ball at the end of the heads pins can vary a little but I do my best to make sure they are as close to a match as possible.  

These earring measure 7/8" long from the end of the ear wire.

Antique Brass Leaf and Ladybug Earrings

Hello and welcome to "Fifty Fathoms Down" where I post jewelry I made using mostly natural elements and occasionally glass pieces. Please read on to see what I am posting today.

Today I have a pair of leaf earrings with ladybugs on them. The leaves and ear wires are base metal (the ear wires on this pair are (according to the package) hypoallergenic. And the ladybugs are made using baked polymer clay. The antique brass base metal highlights the ladybugs nicely. The leaf hangs 3/4" from the ear wire. They are lightweight and can go with so may other pieces of jewelry. Click on the photo for a closer view.

Copper and Jasper Beaded Bracelet

Hello and welcome! Today I have a bracelet to post. I had the stones so long that I forgot what they were. I bought them to a beading group I am in and the consensus is that they are Jasper.  The colors are very rich looking. I joined them with strong copper wire.

The bracelet itself is 7-1/8" and with the clasp and jump ring at the end it measures 8". So if your wrist is 8", this bracelet will not fit you.  When I hold beading classes I often bring 1" x 11" strips of copier paper to class. I have my students wrap it around their wrist. Not tight and not loose, just exactly around their wrist. Then I have them mark where the end piece meets the part of the strip going around. This is the size of their wrist. Once you add the clasp you have the extra space you need to make that bracelet comfortable.  I would also have friends measure their wrists this way so when I was making a bracelet with them in mind I would have their size and could easily surprise them with a fun bracelet. So wrap that paper around your wrist so you know what size your wrist is and then you can go from there when purchasing bracelets from me.  I will always post the post the measurements of the items I make. Copper, Chrysoprase, and Czech Glass Earrings

 Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a unique pair of earrings to post. My web store is not working right now but I will be posting items on here until it's up and running. You can email me with any questions, the address is located on the sidebar. Please read on to know more about these earrings.

These earrings are made of hammered copper, Chrysoprase, and Czech pressed glass. They measure about 1-1/2" long from the end of the ear wire. They are super lightweight and have beautiful hues of green. 

I give the measurements of the piece itself and not include the ear wire because people wear their earrings differently. Some wear the wire further into the piercing and others not so much plus some change out the ear wire for something else they prefer.  So it's easier to just give the length of the piece and you can go from there. 

I make my own headpins so the beaded ends on them could vary a little, though I do try to match the size of the ends as much as possible.  They are handmade after all!

Lodalite Butterfly Earrings

Hello and welcome to my blog. I’m happy you found your way here. Today I have a pair of beautiful purple Lodalite earrings with copper. The butterflies lay behind the wire wrapped Lodalite beads. The beads are wrapped using using handmade copper balled headpins. They dangle from the ear wire. Care was made to make sure the butterflies face the opposite directions so they will mirror each other. They are lightweight and they measure about 1/2″ long from the end of the ear wire. They are perfect for day or evening wear. Lodalite is a non-porous stone so the earrings can easily be cleaned with a mild jewelry cleaner. Flowers and Pearls, Earrings

 

Welcome to my site.  Today I have a fun pair of earrings to post. These earrings are made using copper and freshwater beads. Saturday was a gorgeous and unseasonably warm day so I set up camp in my garage and torched copper wire to create headpins. After putting them in pickle and then tumbling them I had a huge snarl of wires. I had to straighten them out and then I counted them. I torched 350 wires. I'm set now for a while. You an see a pair of them at the end of the pearls. Those little bumps are the balled copper to create the head pin (fun, huh? I LOVED making them). These earrings are a nice size for those who want to have a dangle but don’t want a super long or large one. Large enough to show off but small enough to not overtake your look. Sterling Silver with Black Obsidian Stones, Earrings

 I wanted to share with you a pair of earrings I made using sterling silver and black Obsidian tube beads. 

These were very fun to make, including the ear wires. This is the first year I've made ear wires. In the past I would just purchase them but I'm trying to make everything that I can by hand.

Copper Bracelets

 I actually have two to show you. The knotted one that I had been talking about and a daintier one. The daintier one came from using the messed up pieces from making the first one. I'd get the coil backwards or the ends would poke out after hammering. I'd end up with scrap. But being such a scrap user with stamping, I learned to use the scrap copper to make something too.  So, here's the two bracelets. I still need to file any rough spots and then put them in the tumbler for a half hour to smooth out any imperfections and to shine them up!  Then they'll go in my web store.  Check back in a few days to find the individual links to these.

Hammered Ring Silver-filled 21" Necklace

I made this necklace was made using 18 gauge Silver-filled wire. Silver filled is in the middle of the silvers. There’s silver plating that usually chips off and exposes the base metal under it. Silver-filled is a more reasonable priced silver option. There is the base metal but it’s got many layers of silver over it. And then you have solid sterling silver. Silver-filled is not as soft as solid sterling silver and can withstand a bit more handling.

The larger textured rings are just a bit smaller than a dime. They measure 15.4mm.

This silver-filled necklace measures 21″ long and has a sterling silver lobster clasp. Each ring was soldered, hammered, textured and joined together by soldering a handmade jump ring to each large ring. It was buffed and then tumbled to a bright shine.

It will be shipped in a safe container within a bubble envelope and it will also be in an anti tarnish bag.

Shipping is based on zip code and there is not handling or added shipping fees.

Beaded Jellyfish Pendant Necklace

Welcome to my site.  Today I would like to share a beaded jellyfish that I made. What was most amazing was that I actually had the beads here to make it. I have zillions of beads but when it comes to making a project, I often don't have the right size or color. I did have to improvise a bit on the very top of the jellyfish because my opening was a bit too big, but I just kept repeating the reducing pattern until the opening was big enough for the headpin.

This jellyfish was made using glass pearls I had actually gotten at Michael's during one of their big sales. I liked them because they were a rainbow or maybe AB glazed white pearls. There were four strands on the hang tag in various sizes. They were very pretty. Yup, pretty sells it for me!!

The pattern listed pink pearls for the smaller ones but I didn't have any pink. But I did have the correct size in cream, so that is what I used. I make what I had work because what I had was the right size. I am trying not to order more stuff I don't need before I try using what I have and so far I'm doing pretty good. I will never use up my bead stash but I'm sure trying to make what I have work with what I want to make.

I wanted to make one, I didn't know what I was going to do with it though. Silver-filled Inlaid Turquoise Ring

Today I finished a ring I started before Christmas. I had to keep putting it away due to usage of my workroom and worktables.  All week, except Tuesday I have been working on it and this is the finished results.  I'm okay with it.  It could use some more work but I can't do any more to it because I'm afraid if I sand anymore on it I will be down to the brass in the silver-filled piece.  I had originally started out making a copper one. It is ready for the stone but I decided to jump into some silver.  After completing this one to  where it is, I am going to venture into making one of sterling silver, not silver-filled.  It will cost a lot more but it will be worth it.  And now that I know what I'm doing, it shouldn't take as long to make either. Unless I have to put stuff away every time I get going on it! I need a whole room just for this type of work!

When I started making the ring it was a size 8 and when I finished, it was still a size 8!  I did something right there!!!

This was fun to make and I would like to make some inlaid pendants some time too.  And of course I will share them with you once I've made them.

I will post the copper one once it's done too.

Petite Rose Silver Bracelet

I made this fun bracelet using Silver-filled wire for all the soldered links and Sterling Silver wire for the tiny roses.  

It measures 8-1/8" from end to end.  It fits a 7-1/4" wrist.

All the links have been soldered, including the jump rings. It's going to be pretty hard to break these links.  

The links are Silver-filled and not silver plated.  Silver plating is very thin and chips or wears off in a short time.

Believe Santa Hat Necklace

I'm getting these ready to put in my web store.  There is a limited number of them.  I will provide a direct link once I get it entered in the store.  Hopefully that task will be completed in the next few days.

Behind  the Santa hat is stamped a snowflake.  I should haves lid the hat over so you could see it.  I thought the center of the piece needed something.  I the hat should swing or move off to the side, I thought it would be fun to see something there instead of a blank area.  

I used Swarovski crystals in green, red, and clear.  The necklace is 20" long and is a Sterling silver-filled (not plated).  

A Christmas tag may have been more appropriate for the display card but I don't have any.  Another project to work on some other day!
